About these terms#
These terms are an agreement between you and Duet (letsduet.studio) (“Duet”, “we”, “us”), an independent service operated from India. They cover the website and everything on it: the photobooth, Filter Studio, the live booth, games and letters, the shared album and the Boutique.
By using Duet you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Orders are also covered by our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Duet.
Who can use Duet#
Duet is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are 13 to 17, you may use Duet only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Duet is not for children under 13.
You must be 18 or over, and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law, to buy anything on Duet. A parent or guardian must place orders for anyone younger.
Your account#
You can use the photobooth without an account. To save to an album, link with a partner or order prints, you sign in with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email. Please use an email address you control and keep access to it secure; you are responsible for what happens through your account.
When you link accounts with a partner using an invite code, you each agree that the other can see the memories saved to your shared album. Only link with someone you trust. If you want to unlink or close your account, write to us through the contact form.
Using Duet kindly#
Duet is for personal, non-commercial use. When you use it, you agree not to:
- break any law, or use Duet to harm, harass, threaten, stalk or bully anyone;
- create or share hateful, violent or degrading content;
- create, share or request any sexual content involving a minor. We have zero tolerance for this: we will remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities;
- share intimate or private images of anyone without their clear consent;
- impersonate someone or misrepresent who you are, including to a partner;
- upload content you don’t have the right to use, or that infringes someone’s rights;
- interfere with Duet: probe or attack its systems, get around limits or security, scrape it, or send malware or spam.
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why.
Your photos and content#
Your photos, captions, letters and messages are yours. Most of what you make in Duet never reaches us at all (see the Privacy Policy).
For content you do send us, such as photos saved to your album or a photo you order as a print or keepsake, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, process, transmit and display it only to operate Duet for you (for example, showing your album to you and your linked partner) and to print, personalise and deliver the orders you place. We do not use your photos for advertising or marketing and we do not sell them.
This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for what is needed to finish an order already in progress or to meet a legal obligation.
You confirm that you have the right to use the content you send us, and the consent of the people who appear in it.
Our service and our work#
Duet’s software, design, filters, frames, stickers, games, text and brand belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable permission to use them through Duet, and to keep and share the photos and strips you make with them for personal use.
Features change as Duet grows. Some, like the live booth, are marked beta and may not always work perfectly. We may change, pause or retire free features, and we will try to give notice of big changes.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Duet without owing you anything for them, though we will always be grateful.
Keepsakes, prints and payments#
- Prices are in Indian rupees (₹). The total shown before you pay includes Speed Post packaging and delivery within India.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your order is confirmed once Razorpay confirms the payment. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Every item is made to order with the photo and text you give us, so please check names, dates, spelling and the delivery address carefully before paying. We print what you send.
- If we can’t fulfil an order, for example because a photo can’t be printed well, an item is no longer available or we can’t deliver to the address, we will tell you and refund you in full.
- We currently deliver only to addresses in India.
Cancellations, reprints and refunds are covered in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, and delivery in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Duet Plus and subscriptions#
Duet Plus is not on sale yet. Our pricing page shows it as coming soon, and the features planned for it are included free for now. We do not charge for any subscription today.
If we start selling Duet Plus, we will show the price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms clearly before you subscribe, and you will only be charged if you choose to subscribe.
Services from other companies#
Duet relies on other companies to work: Google (if you choose Google sign-in), Appwrite (hosting, accounts and storage), LiveKit (live booth connections), Razorpay (payments) and India Post (delivery). Their own terms and policies also apply to what they do. We are not responsible for their services, but we will help you if something goes wrong on Duet’s side.
Disclaimers#
We work hard to make Duet lovely and reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work on every device, browser, camera or connection. The live booth depends on both people’s internet connections.
Please download and keep copies of the photos that matter to you. The album is a convenience, not a backup service.
Limitation of liability#
To the extent the law allows, Duet is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost data, lost profits or emotional distress, arising from your use of the service. For any claim relating to an order or a paid service, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that order or service.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Stopping or suspending use#
You can stop using Duet at any time, and ask us to delete your account through the contact form. We may suspend or close access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people or the service. Paid orders that are already in progress will be completed or refunded.
Governing law and disputes#
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please contact us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly and kindly.
If a dispute can’t be resolved that way, it will be decided by the competent courts in India. This does not take away your right to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms as Duet changes. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will give notice on the site, or by email if you have an account, before they take effect. If you keep using Duet after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
